Scholarships
To be eligible for MPCC Institutional Scholarships a student must have a high school dipoma, GED certificate or demonstate Ability to Benefit (see ATB procedure below) prior to enrollment in an occupational or academic program of study leading to a degree, diploma or certificate. (ATB Procedure — Must pass all parts, in one sitting, of a nationally approved Ability to Benefit test measuring the students aptitude to successfully complete a program.)

Scholarships are intended to recognize academic or other achievements and are designed to financially support the expense of tuition, on-campus residence, and books and supplies that occur while attending Mid-Plains Community College. In almost all instances, fees are excluded from the award.
There are numerous scholarships available at Mid-Plains Community College. Some may be used on any campus and some are restricted to only one campus. Some are awards made by the institution and others are available through private donors.
Most scholarship awards are restricted to one year (2 consecutive semesters) unless the student’s award contained the following student guarantee: If a first-year student has reapplied by March 1st (the priority review date) and completed at least 12 credit hours in each of his/her first two semesters with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, he/she will receive at least the same amount of MPCC institutional funds for the second year that he/she received for the freshman year. (Capped at an amount equal to 15 credit hours MPCC tuition each semester.) All freshman students are encouraged to apply for a new scholarship for their sophomore year.

Scholarship selection will be made by the College Scholarship Committee unless stipulated otherwise by the donor.
