NPCC Knights announce new recruits

6/3/08

The newest recruits are highlighted by Rundell Mauge, a 7’0” McDonald’s All-American post player from Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Conn. Mauge was the Coastal Prep League Conference Player of the Year, averaging 23 points per game, 18.5 rebounds per game, and 8.5 blocked shots per game.

“This was my sixth year of coaching basketball at the high school level and Rundell could be the nicest kid I've had the honor to coach and get to know on and off the court. I just hope he steps it up in the classroom and reaches his full potential as a student athlete,” said Putnam Science Academy Coach Tom Espinosa.

In addition to Mauge, the Knights have also received commitments from Kevin Tighe, a 6’1” guard from North Platte; Chase Grabau, a 6’4” guard from Faith Christian Academy in Colorado; Kevin Brousson, a 6’6” forward from Nice, France; Isaac Joyner, a 6’3” guard from Atlanta, Georgia; and Manny Odugbela, a 6’3” guard from St Andrews in Providence, RI.

The Knights will be playing for Coach Kevin O'Connor, who has guided the team for 23 seasons. The team finished the past season with an overall record of 20 wins and 10 loses.
